New Year, New FABSOC!

With a new semester at Macquarie University brings a whole new FABSOC. Hi there and welcome to the official website and blog of Macquarie University’s Fashion & Beauty Society. If you are a new member or visitor, you might be wondering what FABSOC is and what exactly we do. MQ FABSOC, short for Macquarie University Fashion and Beauty Society, is a society filled with fashion enthusiasts and beauty lovers. Our aim is to not only make a fashion and beauty community but to also celebrate each other’s uniqueness and empower all through fashion and beauty. We are basically a family that celebrates each other.

It takes about 5 seconds for someone to form their first impression of you. In those 5 seconds, what do you think we can tell about you? Whether we’d like to admit it or not, our style speaks volumes to people. You can tell a bit of someone’s overall personality with how they dress. Personally, I believe you exude who you are in your style of dressing. Fashion is art. It is our first point of expression, our first sense of freedom. Style is forever subjective, and that is precisely what I love about fashion and what I love about FABSOC.

I love the fact that everybody has their own way of dressing and it shows me a bit of their story. I enjoy going to Uni and looking at crowds of inspiration and getting inspired to evolve. Isn’t it amazing that with fashion, makeup, and beauty, you can be yourself but also evolve? I think it’s fantastic. One of the goals for FABSOC this year is to do something that displays everyone’s individuality but also unites us in a common love of what we are about. If you are a new member or even an old member, welcome to FABSOC. We are a new team this year with exciting plans ahead and we really want to share the fashion movement with everyone.
